USUI REIKI
Reiki is a hands-on healing modality in part based on ancient Eastern sutras (Hindu and Buddhist teachings or scriptures) that was developed in 1920’s Japan by Dr Mikao Usui and later introduced to the United States by Mrs. Hawayo Takata between 1938 and 1970.
Reiki is a complete system of energetic healing that utilizes a gentle, non-invasive and yet powerful technique to facilitates the body’s own ability to restore wellness and balance at many levels including physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.
A Reiki Treatment does not require movement nor is it necessary to remove clothing. It is an excellent technique for stress reduction and as a complementary treatment to western medicine.
KARUNA REIKI®
Karuna is a Sanskrit word that “…is translated to mean any action that is taken to diminish the suffering of others and could also be translated as “compassionate action”…or defined as Reiki of Compassion…”*
The Karuna Reiki® system, developed by William Lee Rand, Laurelle Shanti Gaia and others at the International Center for Reiki Training may be seen as a natural expansion of the use and practice of Usui and Tibetan Reiki. It builds upon and deepens the practitioner’s energy system established through Usui Reiki to greater healing potentiality.
SHAMANIC REIKI
Shaman pronounced (shā men) originally referred to the traditional healers of areas such as Siberia and Mongolia and means "he or she who knows."
Shamanism is a cross-cultural phenomenon; we all carry the ancestry of shamans within us.
Shamanism relies upon natural phenomena as symbols and metaphors for healing and spiritual passage.
Shamanic Reiki is a way to integrate indigenous techniques that have been used for hundreds of years with the Usui Reiki method of hands-on healing.
